Polybagger Packing Machine

The following are questions and answers pertaining to the above RFQ answered by the Department Veterans Affairs (VA):

Q What is the biggest bag size that is required for each type of bagging equipment?

A - Please refer to the REVISED combined synopsis/solicitation attachment dated 1/16/2020.

Q. What are some of the sample products that you plan on packing with the equipment?

A - Information is not available.

Q For line item 0004, what are the exact specifications of the bags that the VA NAC is requiring for each type of bagging machine?

A - Please refer to the REVISED combined synopsis/solicitation attachment dated 1/16/2020.

Q If the tabletop and vertical-drop bagging machines will be using different bags, what is the breakdown of the quantity of the bags for each type of equipment based on the 20,000 boxes?

A - Please refer to the REVISED combined synopsis/solicitation attachment dated 1/16/2020.

Q Are you currently using baggers at other facilities that you are looking to replicate?

A - Information is not available.

Q The Solicitation mentions scanners, can you please find out if the facility has their own hand held scanners to scan a barcode? Can the end user confirm they need hand held scanners for each of the bagging machines?

A - Handheld scanners are required for both the vertical and the tabletop equipment.

Q - On the SX tabletop bagger there is a mention of a cart. Please let me know if the end user would like the cart with the tabletop bagger. The cart offered will lift or lower the SX tabletop bagger to the appropriate height of an operator. The cart also has casters on it so it will be mobile.

A - The tabletop equipment shall include a cart.

RFQ 36S79720Q0002

Q - Lastly, there are two ways to cycle the SX bagger. The user can use dual palm buttons where it takes two hands or a light curtain gets broken as a part goes into the bag. I left the light curtain on the SX as I believe the end user will do some single item piece work and multiples on the SX tabletop. It will be nice to have the option of having the light curtain for singles and palm buttons for multiples.

My thoughts on the Max 20 is it will be all multiple line orders with varying number of items going into the bag so I just have the palm buttons quoted without light curtains on the Max 20. Can you please confirm these cycling options are correct?

Again I am taking the light curtain options off the Max 20 and only having dual palm buttons on the Max 20. The SX tabletop will have both options for cycling since they do some single piece work.

Please let me know if the customer will want the light curtain options on the Max 20 also along with the dual palm buttons option. If the customer will do single piece work on the Max 20, then the Max 20 should have both the palm buttons and light curtain options on the machines.

The SX tabletop will have both options for cycling since they will most likely do both single piece work and multiple piece work.

The SX tabletop is the smaller machine, while the Max 20 is the larger floor model.

A - Dual palms for the large machines and both options for the tabletop.

Q - Can you confirm the yearly volume on bags through the machines at VA?

A - Information is not available.

Q - Please get volumes of what the end user will purchase during each purchase as the pricing is driven by volume purchases.

A -Information is not available.

Q - Will the machines require IT integration into the VA Warehouse Management System (WMS)? Or will the machines be plug and play without integration into the VA WMS.

A - The machines will need to have the ability to integrate into the WMS or to accept the data from the VA WMS.

RFQ 36S79720Q0002

Q - Does your customer require an additional service plan? Our company can provide that. Or after installation, training, delivery and cleanup the VA will pick up the service plan with our integrators of the equipment.

Service plan 1: NGA3 Services, LLC creates a service plan with immediate assistance for all down machines and pays for all travel, work and parts for the duration of whatever timeframe the customer deems necessary in years. All work performed will be heavily discounted or free and most non wear parts will be free.

Service plan 2: Our company links the VA's customer up with the integrator and manufacturers and the VA customer pays for all travel costs (flight, car rental, car gas, lodging, meals (we will draw up the rates based on location by zip code to reflect the cheapest option to the government aligned with the travel rates of the government)). This way the VA will pay for each job on the need to. All work performed will be heavily discounted or free and most non wear parts will be free.

A – Service plans are not listed as a contract line item number.

Q - Does the VA require clearance for the techs and delivery teams entering the facility?

A – No.

Q. Does your customer require a takeaway conveyor system? How high does the customer wish the takeaway conveyor system to deliver? If so, what length or any other information you can provide? Or does the customer already have a takeaway conveyor system?

A - No.

Q. What (if any) Warehouse Management System (WMS) is the customer using or plan on using with the baggers?

A - Information is not available.

Q. What size bags would you like quotes for? Can you provide information on items the customer plans on shipping? Approximate size? Just so I can narrow down the bags as best I can. I will quote the 9"x14" poly bags 2 mil thick plain bags on a roll and the 17"x21" poly bags 2 mil plain on a roll and I will send you three (3) quantities for each bag with prices.

A - Please refer to the REVISED combined synopsis/solicitation attachment dated 1/16/2020.
