?.## TECHNICAL/PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATIONS

ITEM # 1 – Scrub Medium Volume Dispenser/Receiver

Furnish and install six (6) each medium volume scrub dispenser/receiving machines. Machines shall be located in the below locations:

a. One (1) unit OR room D314

b. One (1) unit OR room D318

c. One (1) unit SPD, Bldg. 1, room 1403A

d. One (1) unit Dental Bldg. 29, room 1035

e. One (1) unit Cath Lab Bldg. 1, room 4132F

f. One (1) unit (Location to be determined)

g. Master control system room H119C

The new machines shall be capable of dispensing clean surgical scrubs and receiving soiled scrubs from employees using a card swipe system that will identify user.

The scrubs will be stored separately in their slot which will hold a complete set to include pants and tops. The unit will be able to be set to a set amount supplied per card and updated as soiled ones are returned.

1. Commercial preservation, packaging and packing against damage required.

2. Scrub Units shall have a color touch screen controls & information systems” that incorporate automatic/manual machine operation, self-testing, fault display and built-in diagnostics.

3. Electrical will be 110 volt, single phase.

4. Ethernet connection shall be supplied and installed by the VA Health Care System. The Ethernet connection shall be installed above the scrub unit.

5. The vendor is responsible for complete installation of equipment including the wall bracket.

6. Dispenser and receiver to be incorporated together within the parameters in number 3.

7. Machine must not move the scrub/linen internally to prevent potential failure points or jamming (i.e. no rotating drums moving scrubs to the access doors).

8. Scrub machine must be able to deliver scrub(s) within 8-10 seconds to the user.

9. Scrub machine must use secured proximity or barcode swipe device to gain access individually assigned per user.

10. Scrub machine must work on a credit system (i.e. one credit used per full scrub set taken, one credit returned per full scrub set returned)

11. Centralized monitoring of supply levels, usages, dispenses and returns – (web based) is required. Computer. flat screen monitor and software will be supplied by the vendor and located in specified location supplied by the Health Care System.

12. Management system will be installed to include reporting sections, status indicator on level amounts in machine.

13. Lock-out/Tag-out device(s) to be supplied by vendor. Directions/procedures of how to lock-out and tag-out the equipment shall be permanently labeled on the machine.

14. System must be installed with Ethernet connections for trouble-shooting and or updates from provider.

15. System will have User Access by Magnetic stripe proximity card (minimum of 1 card per slot required) provided by contractor and keypad back-up

16. Two sets of operators and training manuals to be supplied by vendor.
