RFI QUESTIONS FOR FORT LOGAN NATIONAL CEMETERY 36C78619Q0426

1. Question: Based on the solicitation and supporting documents, we are assuming that the contractor will be responsible for removing and replacing all of the sod 118,487sf. for the 2,531 flat markers. Is that correct?

Answer: Yes.

2. Question: On page 13, F: SUMMARY OF WORK, there is a reference to "Site Plans", we don't see that this referenced document has been attached to the solicitation. Can the contracting team please clarify?

Answer: Plans for section U uploaded.

i. Related to this item. We're trying to discern whether or not we should plan to remove and import the 6 inches of topsoil on half of the site? Or do we not to remove topsoil but plan to import or export as needed? In designated burial sections (as annotated on the Site Plan) the Contractor shall remove the top six inches of soil and import and grade six inches of clean topsoil after turf removal but prior to new turf installation; and in one burial section the Contractor shall not remove existing soil but shall still be required to import and grade new topsoil.

Answer: Minimally, you will need to rototill the area to a minimum depth of 6 inches; grade and compact surfaces uniformly level down each row and between rows; import and/or export any material required to have all surfaces free of ripples, depression, high spots, low areas or ridges.

The finished grade shall be smooth and uniformly level to blend to existing areas.

3. Question: Can the contracting team please clarify whether or all excess materials are to be disposed of offsite or if there is an existing area available onsite to dispose of the sod and soil?

Answer: Excess material must be disposed offsite.

4. Question: Can the contracting team please indicate how many markers can be removed at a time?

Answer: Two rows can be removed at any given time…example, row 1 and row 3, to facilitate grading rows 2 and 4 as a guide, plus surveying stacks and reference points.

Continue the process in the same manner for the other rows.

5. Question: Regarding the period of performance and an estimated award date of September 25, 2019.

Can we incorporate plans to work thru the winter, weather permitting? (Meaning work on the good days, and shut down on the bad weather days)?

Answer: Yes, the Government will work with the awardee on the schedule to determine the best course of action, continuous or break in performance.

File details come from the government source that posted it.
