1. 4/14/22 04-25-2022 On plan page MD1.00, notes 3 and 4 instruct the mechanical contractor to remove the Chilled Water Supply and Return pipes for relocation. These lines will have to be drained and the chilled water lines will have to be shut down. Does the plan call for temporary piping to be used to re-feed the parts of the hospital with chilled water while the permanent lines are being installed and cleaned? If this is the case is there a detail for a bypass to be installed in each of the set of Chilled water pipes so they can be cleaned, filled, and be put into service quickly by opening and closing valves. Please note that one set of these chilled water pipes does Building 40.

Refer to revised MD1.00 and MP1.00. Install new chilled water piping prior to demolition for changeover from existing to new. Contractor to install new chilled water piping prior to demolition of existing to minimize downtime of chilled water system. Contractor to coordinate all shutdowns with the COR and VA staff at least 14 calendar days before intended shutdown. This may include after hours and/or weekend work at no extra charge to the VA.

2. 4/14/22 04-25-2022 The Ductwork and the Chilled Water Piping have a point of confliction in Open Office BA-65. Can an Elevation detail be drawn for this area?

See note to offset piping below duct on MP1.00.

Piping shown is for general location, contractor to coordinate installation with all other disciplines and note any changes on redline shop drawings.

3. 4/14/22 04-25-2022 Should the Chilled Water lines that route to Building 40 and the chilled water lines that route north into the hospital from Mechanical Room 67 be flipped so we don’t have to cross the lines? Crossing the lines takes up a lot of ceiling space which is limited on this project in the Basement area.

Refer to revised MD1.00 and MP1.00 for revised chilled water piping.

The Lobby area is a conjunction of pathways and very full of existing items. Contractor & bidding subs are uncertain of ability to perform the demo with current site conditions. Will these existing pipes, utilities, and trays be temporarily/permanently relocated under this project? Would the demo scope be lessened to factor in these area’s unique access restraints? Photos provided
