This project is listed as 100 calendar days from notice to proceed. Water heat manufacturers are informing us that the lead time on the model specified and comparable models have a lead time of 7 weeks. The specified lead time will not likely be adequate to execute the contract once one accounts for submittals and review and lead time. Can this timeline be extended?

Based on Governments additional research regarding lead time, Bid Item I (Base Bid) will be extended from 100 Calendar Days to 160 Calendar Days – extended additional 60 Calendar Days.

Bid Item II: (Alternate Schedule) will be extended from 30 Calendar Days to 90 Calendar Days – extended additional 60 Calendar Days.

The CAD Detail No.: SD232113-11.DWG “Heat Exchanger – Steam to Hot Water” is noted that on the steam supply that control valves are needed in 2/3 & 1/3 size arrangement, Typ. with a bypass for each.

The existing water heaters are not piped this way.

Are the control valves are in 2/3 & 1/3 size arrangement, Typ. with a bypass needed for each?

Please Disregard the 1/3 & 2/3 steam control valve requirement shown on drawing Attachment 2 – Heat Exchanger Iso diagram. Drawing SD232113-11 refers to hot water heat exchangers used for hydronic heating and Does Not refer the hot water heaters to be installed on this project. The intent of its inclusion was to simply show a horizontal type arrangement and was not meant to be used for design purposes
