Text version
1) The plan view of the racks (with hand notations) shows 3 rows of back to back units, however Sheet 165-SF-201 (Framing Elevations) appears to show another single row of units to the left of the back to back units. Please confirm that only the 3 back to back rows are included in the scope of work.
- DOES NOT apply to the SOW. There are only 6 rows of shelving creating 3 back-to-back rows.
2) Please advise the purpose of the 18” x 60” offset design on the frame. We offer frames that have a 12” x 36” H offset. Is this acceptable?
- The purpose is to increase the swing area for the forklift and maximum pallet maneuverability
- Hence the larger offset to increase this area and why we put it in the salient characteristics. Must be 18 x 60.
3) Can standard frames without the offset be used?
- No, the government went with this design to incorporate the latest design capabilities and functionality for optimal use, efficiency, and storage.
4) Please provide the slab thickness and compressive strength
- Slab thickness is 12 inches
- Compressive Strength is 4000 psi
5) do you know if the 336 Pallet Positions, each supporting at least 3,500 pounds is 3,500 pounds a shelf or per pallet?
- 3,500 pounds per pallet position
6) For the rack system requested in the subject solicitation, can confirm whether 96" beams and 42" deep uprights can be accepted instead of 102" beams and 48" uprights?
- No, 102” beams and 48” uprights must be provided. This again allows to maximum use of space and minimizes issues with non-standard pallet sizes, material size and prevent pallet or material overhang.
7) Do the end of aisle guards need to be 48” or 30” each? On the drawing, it appears that they are 48”, however the total width of the recessed beam is only 30”.
- 48 inches to require forklift driver to maximize turning radius and safeguard shelving
8) What is the heaviest pallet weight? Solicitation says max 3500 lbs per level. Is it safe to assume that the max pallet weight will be 1750 lbs?
- See question 5, 3,500 pounds per pallet position
9) The drawing shows only tow (2) row spacers per upright. Since the uprights are 22’ and 26’, it is recommended that there be three (3). Can you confirm if 2 or 3 are required?
- 3 should be the correct spacer count per upright, the drawing is incorrect.
