Technical Requirements for Wayfinding Project

Las Vegas Medical Center (LVMC)

Wayfinding Scope:

The LVMC is interested in providing e a location awareness (indoor Blue Dot) system for patients and family members throughout the Hospital and CLC. This will be accomplished through the latest technology called VBLE (Virtual Bluetooth Low Energy). This VBLE technology provides the capability to allow the patients to utilize an application which allows for the indoor maps to be shown and give the individual the ability to find their way to and from appointments with in the facility via Blue Doting. With this latest Technology, we can expand on the following capabilities which are to include indoor Blue Dot, GEO fencing, push notifications, asset tracking and Patient Eloping, Etc.…

Requirements (Technical)

Access Points:

• MIST BT-11 Enterprise Grade Access Point (Dedicated VBLE unit only) (or equal)

• MIST AP-41 Bluetooth LE and loT Access Points (or equal)

• Accuracy of Location within 1-3 meters and capable of using Jibstream Software or EXACT like product.

• Machine learning (automatically adapts to different devices and RF environments, eliminating the need for BLE site surveys and ensuring the best mobile experience under changing circumstances)

• VBLE AP’s shall have 16 steerable directional antennae and 1 Omni-directional element array

• Capable of supporting up to 1,730 Mbps throughput for 5GHz band and up to 800 Mbps for the

2.4Ghz WIFI band.

• Supports 802.3AT PoE 12v/3A DC power, VBLE AP’s shall support daisy chaining of up to 4 Access

Points when connected to 802.11AC power and Wave 2 Gigabit WIFI/VBLE

• The system shall support beaconing in Apple iBeacon, Google Eddystone and AltBeacon advertising formats

• Delivery antennas must be Enterprise Grade Access Point (Dedicated VBLE unit only)

• vBLE capable antennas should hardwire using existing public Wi-Fi infrastructure including the use of existing home cat6 cabling to Cisco 3700 edge switch not to exceed the 20-watt power budget for each port.

• vBLE delivery Antennas shall not store data; vBLE delivery antennas shall be configurable and manageable though a management portal interface

• Product must be generally available or on the available price list

Transmit Mode:

• LBS services for SDK installed clients, Virtual (vBLE) Beacon proximity messaging without the need to install legacy beacon tags.

• Zero manual calibration Wayfinding Integration; Power Over Ethernet (POE) Out capability to daisy chain multiple Access points s to a single POE+ switch port.

• RF Glasses feature to visualize the RF environment and probability surface for both debugging and analysis. Client iBeacon and Eddystone Client Wake Up Feature Receive Mode;

• Promiscuous Bluetooth Tracking feature to locate and produce stats of Bluetooth smart phones without an installed SDK

Cabling:

All new copper cables to the outlets will be run overhead in the space above the drop tile or hard ceiling.

Cabling will be laid in GFE cable trays and/or suspended above drop tile ceiling using compliant hardware such as j-hooks so that no cables lay on the drop ceiling tiles. Existing pathways may be followed, and penetrations may be used.

Route all horizontal cables to the appropriate Telco/LAN closet where they will be terminated in new patch panels. All horizontal station cables and patch cords will be tested with an industry standard cable scanner for Category 6 performance. The surface boxes and patch panels will receive machine printed labels using a label scheme suitable to the VA.

AP Installation:

Stage new APs and associate MAC address and label for deployment

• Cabling contractor will be deploying the APs. Confirm that all APs are deployed and operational.

Note and bring to the project manager’s attention: 1) any APs locations that are significantly different than the per-design locations; and 2) any cable drops that do not provide power to Aps.

• Claim all APs to the V AMC

• Ensure APs are associated to the VAMC cloud domain, place all the APs on the maps in the VAMC cloud domain, verify that all AP are operational and are correctly placed on the maps.

• Provide the VA with a Deployment Report to include, but not limited to, AP Locations and Actual
