Building 3 Contractor Questions

1. Can copper be used in lieu of welded steel for heating water piping? No, Steel NPT.

2. Does a heating water expansion joint need to be included in the rooftop replacement piping? Yes

3. We cannot perform a Test and Balance without air and water flow targets; please advise how TAB should be handled? To be determined.

4. Is it acceptable if the new unit and/or accessories are visible above the screen wall? To be determined.

5. Are there any flushing or additional chemical requirements? Flush new piping.

6. Will copper pipe with press fitting be an acceptable piping system for heating and chilled systems? Match existing.

7. What type of piping insulation is acceptable for the exterior piping? Match existing.

Fiberglass with aluminum jacketing sealed.

8. What type of heat trace system is acceptable for the exterior piping? Match existing.

9. Is a dedicated power source required to power the new heat trace system? Yes. Use existing.

10. Must the installation of the new unit be performed on specific dates and at specific times?

ASAP. Weekdays 7AM to 4:30PM.

12. Are additional site visits allowed?

Yes. Second site visit is scheduled for Thursday, September 19, 2024. Please see the amendment that has been attached to the solicitation entitled, “36C25724Q0972 0002”.

13. What is the make, model, serial number, and tonnage of the RTU that will be replaced?

14. Do you have a desired make, model, serial number, and tonnage of the RTU that will be replaced? No

15. Is the blower a separate piece of equipment. Do you have a make, model, serial number, CFM and duct size/type of the blower that will be replaced? No

16. Do we know what the Siemens EMS control model will be? No

17. What in the make, model, serial number, of the frequency drive located on the first floor?

Make is ABB. To be determined.

18. Do you have the required supply/ exhaust specs. for the air balancing; do you have the flow and pressure requirements for the water balancing; are the metering test posts already in place or will they be installed new. Do you have the design data: This information is entered into balancing reports to help with system balancing (mechanical/pipefitter drawings)?

19. Based upon the possible complexity of the many different aspects of this job (multiple subcontractors) will you entertain a second site visit, so the Primes can have specific subs back to address trade concerns? Yes

20. Will you entertain slipping the bid due date back a week or so, so we can plan and design this possibly complex job—we really have no idea of the scope from the information in the solicitation. To be determined.

21. Do you have the make, model, serial number, output of the heating coil that will be replaced? N/A
