X x x x The purpose of this amendment is to provide additional information and answer Requests for Information
(RFI).
See attached.
Requests for Information - Patient Garage Rolling Grille Replacement
1. The replacement of the North door is removed from this project, leaving five (5) to be replaced.
1. Contractors are reminded that they are responsible for disposal of all old materials.
1. Q: What controls are wired to the existing doors (Example: Security, or communication etc.)?
A: Nothing else is connected, only key switches.
1. Q: How many of the opening will require new steel supports?
A: Three (3) will require new steel supports on the Southeast side.
1. Q: For existing steel deemed acceptable to remain- does the government want to entertain rust inhibiting paint? If so what product would be acceptable?
A: A zinc coating is needed for long term protection. Note: The government may apply a protective coating after assembly.
1. Q: Whom will be responsible for final connections at disconnects and Lock out/Tag out (LOTO)? Qualified Electrician or VAMC Stokes Electricians?
A: Contractor is responsible from disconnect to door power. Government will LOTO at source of power.
1. Q: What Is the location of the panel feeding the overhead doors and what is the voltage?
A: On the older side of the parking garage, the opener motors are 208 volt 3 phase. The new side of the garage has 480 volt 3 phase opener motors. The contractors will be responsible to wire their new openers to the existing disconnects. Government will LOTO at panel, contractor doesn’t have to concern themselves with location.
