About this file

This document is a modification to a previous solicitation for a construction project to repurpose a datacenter space at the Lakemont Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Miami, Florida. The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 8 is seeking offers for work including electrical, low voltage cabling, and finish upgrades. The response date is extended to June 27, 2022 at 1:00 PM Eastern time. Questions from contractors are answered providing clarification that existing flooring, low voltage cabling, and millwork can remain if not damaged; furniture procurement is not included in the scope of work; and mechanical, plumbing and security systems will tie into existing nearby infrastructure. No dedicated HVAC, cameras, access control or large equipment beyond standard office items are required for the space.

1. Please clarify if the existing floors and baseboard are to remain.

VA Response: Yes, but any flooring and base damaged during construction shall be replaced/repaired.

VA Response: See pdf “Panel Pics”

VA Response: Furniture procurement and installation is NOT the responsibility of the contractor

VA Response: Unknown at the moment. If the furniture requires whips, then whips would be provided by the furniture vendor for contractor to install.

1. Please provide the actual furniture sizes ADA clearances can be determined.

VA Response: Will be provided after award.

1. Please clarify if the existing transom frame over the entry door is to be removed and replaced with a typical frame.

VA Response: There is an unused RH single door frame with transom that the VA will provide.

1. Please clarify if the new entry door will require locking hardware or will this just be a passage type.

VA Response: Provide locking hardware set.

1. Please identify if the existing millwork base is to remain or to be replaced with a typical cove base.

VA Response: Existing base is to remain and repaired/replaced as needed if affected by construction.

1. Please provide A/E (MEP) as-built documents for the area.

VA Response: As-Builts were emailed to each contractor.
