RFQ Questions and Answers

1) Are there 1 or 2 Open Tops for collection of old furniture?

2) Are/is the open top(s) for old furniture picked up twice per week (M,W) or only as needed (On-Call)?

On-Call

3) The map included in the solicitation shows a C&D Open Top Roll Off container that is not included in the Price Sheet or the Summary of container requirements. Does the solicitation include a requirement for a C&D Open Top container?

We do have a construction open top container on site which should be included in the solicitation.

4) Are there 2 solid waste (trash) containers? Or just 1 solid waste (trash) container? The map shows 2, but the summary indicates 1.

There are 2 solid waste containers as indicated on the map.

5) Does the solicitation requirement for single stream recycling include two 10-yard containers? Or three 8-yard containers? The map shows two 10-yard, but the summary shows three 8-yard containers. What is the collection frequency for single stream recycling?

There is a total of 3 eight-yard recycling containers. The most recent map that was provided does not show any 10-yard recycle containers. The recycle container located on 131st is serviced every Monday. The 2 recycle containers on Richard Silver Way are serviced on Mondays and Thursdays.

6) Does the solicitation include a requirement for an 8-yard Yard Waste (landscape waste) container? If so, what is the collection frequency for this container? Is there room to place a 20-yard Roll Off Open Top container at the site for the collection of Yard Waste?

We currently have a 30-yard container for our yard waste. We need a 30-yard container for our grounds crew especially during times where they have large projects cutting and trimming tree limbs and bushes.

7) Does the solicitation include a requirement for two 8-yard Solid Waste (trash) container? If so, what is the collection frequency for this container?

We have one 8-yard solid waste (trash) container which is located on Richard Silver Way which is serviced on Mondays & Thursdays.

Additional Question:

In PWS C. General Requirements:

Specific Task:

6.The contractor shall comply with all current county or municipal, state, and federal laws, regulations and guidelines when collecting, storing, removing, transporting, disposing of and/or recycling all wastes under the scope of this contract. Includes Hillsborough County Ordinance 96-34.

8) Pertaining to Item Number 0005 and 0005A plus following option years.

I was informed yard waste cannot be placed into a Front End Load (FEL) Container. It must be delivered separately in a roll off to Hillsborough County. FELs are MSW only in Hillsborough County. Yard waste cannot be mixed with MSW.

Our grounds team currently uses a 30-yard open top container for yard brush. Located next to the yard brush open top container are two 8-yard front end load containers for recycling as well as one 8-yard front load container for trash. The FEL for trash is necessary for the grounds personnel to empty their small ground sweeper. The sweeper would not be able to reach high enough to empty into an open top container.

9) Will Item Number 0005 and 0005A plus following option years be removed from this RFQ or will another 30cy roll-off be added?

A second 30 cy roll-off is not needed for yard waste at this time.
