Location: Gainesville Room C087-1 Main Building Electrical Vault

1. Will temporary batteries and charger be needed while batteries are being switched out?

Answer: No.

2. What is the shelf life of the existing shelves?

Answer: 30 years. They were installed in 2010, so they are 9 years old.

3. Are the batteries monitored?

Answer: No.

4. What are these batteries powering?

Answer: These batteries power all the switch gear in the room.

5. Will any of the systems that the batteries support be changing?

Answer: No, we will not be changing systems.

6. Is there a data plate on the shelves?

Answer: No

7. Are there any countries we cannot do business with?

Answer: VA supports buy American

8. Will we have to work after hours to switch this set of batteries out?

Answer: Yes.

Location: Gainesville Room C094-1 ACA/E-Wing Generators

1. Must batteries be made in the USA?

Answer: Yes

2. Are all batteries NiCad?

Answer: Yes

3. Will we have to work after hours to switch this set of batteries out?

Answer: Yes. Coordination will need to occur between the OR and the COR to ensure batteries are replaced during a period when surgeries are not taking place.

1. Are all shelving units set on rubber?

Answer: No.

2. Do you need the connecting links on the batteries to be insulated?

Answer: No.

Answer: These batteries are powering the switch gears in the room.

4. Will we have to work after hours to switch this set of batteries out?

Location: Gainesville Building #29 Full Power Back Up Generators

1. Is there a requirement for ED testing?

Answer: No

2. Do these batteries need to be sealed or not?

Answer: No.

3. Will we have to work after hours to switch this set of batteries out?

Location: Lake City Room 1A-05 LC Gen

1. What is the voltage?

Answer: 24 volts

2. Does this (the generators) power the hospital?

Answer: Yes. But only during a utility outage. These generators are part of an alternate power system.

3. Will we have to work after hours to switch this set of batteries out?

Answer: No, you do not need to do the battery replacement in this room after hours.
