VA Medical Center Response

Question 1: In our review of the plan set we have found that performance schedules for the Heat Exchanger, Converter, and Condensate cooler are missing from the contract drawings. Please have the DOR provided updated drawings with the requisite performance schedules necessary to complete our bid.

Answer 1: Heat Exchanger, Converter, and Condensate Cooler are existing equipment scheduled to be relocated and reused.

Question 2: Please provide the make and model of the existing fire alarm system.

Answer 2: Make: Edwards & Model: EST 3.

Local Vendor: RED HAWK FIRE & SECURITY. East Syracuse, NY, Tel: 315-458-1154

Question 3: Which controls contractor is acceptable for this project? (Johnson Controls or Siemens) Johnson Controls is listed on the drawings but the extension of the Siemens system is listed in the specs.

Answer 3: We will accept either Johnson Controls or Siemens as long as their product meets the material specification requirements. All references to “Siemens” in specification 23 09 23, and all references to “Johnson Controls” on the drawings have been changed to read “Siemens or Johnson Controls”.
