A. The purpose of this amendment is to provide answers to several RFIs and to extend the closing date.

B. The following questions and answers are provided. This amendment will be incorporated into the resulting contract and answers to these RFIS will be in full effect.

Question 1: During the site walk, the veteran had mentioned that the chimney is currently pulling away from the roof- causing a water leak. Will this be fixed prior to the new floors being installed? This would not only damage the new flooring but also cause extra breathing problems (causing mold).

Answer: The chimney isn't part of the scope of work on this contract and is not scheduled to be repaired.

Question 2: Would the veteran/occupants (and dog) be willing to relocate to outside housing for the duration of the contract. This is not required of the veteran.

Answer: This is not required of the Veteran. The Veteran will remain in the home as stated in the SOW.

Question 3: Would the contractor be able to put a POD or similar storage container on the driveway for the duration of the project for the home owners’ items.

Answer: Yes, as long as at least one parking space for the Veteran’s vehicle is available in the driveway and the contractor’s vehicle doesn't impede the cul-de-sac.

Question 4: The SOW does not state anything about the stairs- which the color currently matches the current floor. Does the SOW cover the stairs? If so, would sanding and staining to match new flooring color be acceptable?

Answer: The stair are not part of this project. However the new tiles needs to match the existing tiles on the stairs as close as practical (to the acceptance of the Contracting Officer). As such make the following changes are made to the SOW:

“Para 3.2.1 Change to read: 3.2.1 Below is an example of desired flooring. If the contractor chooses to use other flooring the flooring must be approved by the Contracting Officer prior to installation.

• Guinness White Oak, 3/4” X 3”; 1/4” X 4” X 5”; Flooring must be Brand Name or Equal to Durango. The color of this flooring will match the stairs and current floor color, which the Veteran prefers. “

Question 5: For all personal items- IE Clothes, shoes, jewelry- Per PWS Section 2.3- “digital pictures of all furniture and personal property are required before said items can be moved and/or relocated “. Does each item (IE clothing, shoes, jewelry) have to have its own individual picture.

Answer: No, each item of clothing doesn't require an individual picture.

Question 6: The SOW states the baseboards must be removed prior to removal of floor - Does the door jam & trim also need removed and replace?

Answer: Only if the door jam and/or trim is damaged or otherwise necessary to remove and replace during the installation of the flooring.

Question 6: Will all items have to be removed from the floor we are working on? Or only items on the floor? Could we move items from one area on the same floor to another area? Move items which would impede the installation of the new floor.

Answer: Yes, you may move items from one area of the home to another, recommend dusting the items prior to replacement.
