CONTRACT ITEM DESCRIPTION: 2-1/2” SEWAGE (CHT) DISCHARGE HOSE ASSEMBLY

(2-1/2” ID X 50’ LONG)

(COMMERICALLY CALLED “SEWAGE TRANSFER” HOSE

Possible Sources:

1) Continental ContiTech, Prospector™ Oilfield 150, SAP # 20018031.

2) Unisource Manufacturing, Series 2215 Tank Truck Hose - 150 PSI, Part # 2215-250-050.

Or Equal Or Equal Purchase Specification: Coupled and fully assembled.

Hose, Nonmetallic, Multiple Tube & Cover with helix wire construction; Coupled and Fully Assembled,

1. Size: 2-1/2” I.D. by 50’ Long.

2. Application: Temporary Marine (CHT) Ship to Shore Sewage Discharge Services.

3. Working Pressure: 150 PSI, minimum.

4. Burst Pressure: 600 PSI, minimum.

5. Vacuum Rating: 29 Hg

6. Rated bend radius: 9” inches or less.

7. Rated Continuous Temperature: -25º F to +180º F.

8. If requested all bidding vendors must submit: a hose, end fitting, and ferrule manufacturer cut sheet or product description sheet attachments, which shall include as a minimum the technical characteristic of the components and the manufacturer’s address, telephone, fax number and manufacturer point of contact.

9. All quoting vendors if requested must submit a five-foot long hose assembly to Shop 99 at vendor’s expense, for destructive testing analysis prior to PSNS & IMF Engineering Code 270TS approval to purchase.

10. PSNS & IMF Engineering Code 270TS must approve all exceptions and Or-Equal offer’s prior to purchase.

Construction:

10. Tube: Black, Nitrile, must meet Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) Class A standards for oil resistance. Hose shall be wrapped or mandrel type construction.

11. Reinforcement: Multiple spiral plied fabric helix construction.

12. Cover: Smooth Cover, Black synthetic rubber, Neoprene or blend, must meet minimum of RMA Class C standards for limited oil resistance.

13. Cover Color: Black (No continuous yellow accepted).

14. Hose end assembly shall be accomplished in accordance with established National Association for Hose & Accessories Distribution (NAHAD) certification standards.

15. Each hose assembly shall have the following components installed at each end:

a. 1st Hose End; Brass, 2-1/2” Male Cam & Groove Adapter by Hose Shank, PT Coupling Co., Part # 25E, Item # 1200525.

b. 2nd Hose End; Brass, 2-1/2” Female Cam & Groove Coupler by Hose Shank with Stainless Steel, Cam Arms, Pins, Pull Rings and Passive Locking Device, PT Coupling Co., Part # 25CSLII, Item # 1290325L2.

c. Hose end fittings to comply with COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION (CID) A-A-59326/2 and A-A-59326/6.

d. End Fitting Interlocking Ferrules: End fittings shall be coupled to the hose with PT Coupling Co., “ProGrip” C50SS Stainless Steel Crimp Ferrule or equal, sized to match the hose. End fittings shall meet a working pressure of 150 PSI or greater. (“Or equal” must be interlocking ferrule type system, no hose clamps, bands, or sleeves will be accepted).

16. Branding / Marking: Hose shall be continuously ink-branded, stencil painted, Mylar or stripe branded, marked in 1-1/2” lettering (minimum), which must be in a contrasting color or background to the black outer cover of the hose. The lettering shall state as a minimum:

a. Hose Brand/Line/Model Number, Date of Manufacture.

b. PSNS S/99 CHT SEWAGE

c. 150 PSI MAX Hose Test & Assembly Certification:

Each hose assembly shall be hydrostatically strength tested with commercial clean (Potable) water as a test medium, at 225 (+20, -0) PSIG for 10 minutes. Each hose to be certified to the testing procedures of the United States Coast Guard (USCG) regulations 33 C.F.R & 154.500 hose assemblies. Hose manufacturer shall certify that hose assemblies are free of leaks, deformation, layer separation, excessive twisting or kinking; that end fittings are not damaged or faulty, and that the end fittings and ferrules are properly positioned on the hose ends, in accordance to NAHAD standards. Also that the hose is does not have hairline cracks, breaks, abrasions, soft spots, bulges, or other defects in the outer cover. Written certification of satisfactory hose end assembly in accordance with NAHAD standards and satisfactory hydrostatically tested & USCG certified (100% of hoses) shall be provided with shipped hoses. Written certifications shall include the witness signature of the tester, test date.
