About this file

This is an Addendum #1 for a Laptop & Desktop Computers procurement for Lakeview Public Schools, issued by Wright & Hunter (W&H) on March 17, 2025, with project number 25-LPS-LDC-01. The addendum provides clarifications and responses to vendor questions regarding a Request for Bid (RFB) for computer equipment, including specifications for laptops (14" and 16"), desktop computers, and Chromebooks. The document indicates that the district is seeking new devices for the 2025 school year, with delivery to a single site in the district, and no onsite installation is required - only delivery with lift gate vehicles.

The addendum addresses several key procurement details, including bid bond requirements (5% bid bond and 100% materials bond), openness to alternate manufacturers, and specifications for device accessories like padded bags in black with carry handles. While a specific buyback of surplus devices is not mandatory, the district may request pricing for device buyback after contract award. The document references multiple sections of the original RFB for detailed quantities of different computer types, and clarifies that the owner will be responsible for system imaging and testing. Vendors are instructed to submit datasheets for proposed alternate systems and must bid the entire scope of work.

VENDOR QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS (Q & A)

1. Would you be open to considering a manufacturer not listed in the RFP, provided they meet or exceed the specified requirements? I am happy to supply the relevant specification sheets upon request. Yes. Please submit datasheets on all proposed alternate systems. You must bid the entire scope of work.

2. What type of bid bond is required. I noticed it does say that bid bond is required but no percentage is listed that I could find. Kindly elaborate. See section 2.09 of the Request For Bid (RFB). 5% bid bond and 100% materials bond.

3. On Page 30 of the solicitation you mention system imaging – Kindly explain in more details what type of system imaging you would like to have provided to you …remote imaging? See section 4.13.N of the RFB. The Owner shall be responsible for all system imaging and system testing.

4. Good afternoon. I see that the district is currently advertising for new devices for the 2025 school year and beyond. My company specializes in the BUYBACK of the end of life/off lease or outgoing devices that are being replaced. We would be in a position to offer a good market value for the outgoing devices. Depending on what type of device you are replacing, the value of surplus chromebooks or laptop devices vary from $50 - $250. We can come in and provide our White Glove Service. Your staff wouldn’t have to do any of the labor to collect or package up the surplus devices. My trained staff go into schools all the time to do these type projects. What’s your plan for the surplus devices being replaced? A buyback is not required as part of the scope of work, but once the district has awarded this contract, the district may request pricing for a buyback.

5. How many laptops and how many desktop computers you need for below location? See section 4.14.S of the RFB for 14” laptop quantities. See section 4.15.S. for 16” laptop

"padded bags" for the Chromebooks and Windows devices. Are they referring to a sleeve case with a carry handle or what did they have in mind? I just wanted to make sure we got the right item quoted for them. Carry handles and padded portion to protect the laptop.
