About this file

The document is an Addendum (Number One) for an Audio Visual Systems project for Lakeview Public Schools located in St. Claire Shores, Michigan, dated March 11, 2025. The addendum provides detailed specification changes and clarifications for audio-visual system installations across multiple school locations, including Lakeview High School, Jefferson Middle School, and four elementary schools (Ardmore, Greenwood, Harmon, and Princeton). The project involves updating and replacing various audio-visual equipment such as projectors, screens, speakers, microphones, digital control processors, amplifiers, and related infrastructure components. Drawing revisions (TA101-TA107) and a bidders meeting sign-in sheet are included as attachments.

The addendum specifies precise equipment requirements, including brand and model specifications like Panasonic PT-CMZ50U projectors, Audio Technica wireless microphone systems, JBL speakers, and Netgear network switches. Notable changes include adding a new cabinet at Lakeview High School, specifying dbx AFS2 Feedback Suppressors for elementary school systems, and clarifying mounting and installation requirements for projectors and screens. The document provides extensive vendor Q&A sections addressing specific installation details, such as screen placement, input locations, and equipment reuse, indicating a thorough and methodical approach to the audio-visual system upgrade across the school district.

VENDOR QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS (Q & A):

1. Lakeview HS Café: Please confirm if the screen in the Café “overflow” area is going to be re-used? Café overflow screen shall be replaced. See sheet number TA101.

2. Lakeview HS Café: Can you please confirm the dimensions of the overflow room screen, as it was not available to come down at the walk through. See answer #1.

3. Lakeview HS Café: If a new screen is required, how should it be mounted? Recessed. Separate trades will remove and reinstall ceiling gird to permit the removal of the existing screens and installation of the new screens.

4. Lakeview HS Café: Please confirm that we can re-use the existing video input wall box on the East wall for the new video input. Existing video input wall box on East wall shall be used for new cabling and connectors.

5. Lakeview HS Café: Should the new touch screen located on the east wall in the corner going to be removed as part of the addendum #1? See revised sheet number TA101.

6. Lakeview HS Café: Please confirm that the mic input on the east wall under the right TV should be moved to the existing old video wall plate by this TV? Confirmed.

7. Lakeview HS Café: How should the new Café main area screen be mounted? Recessed. See Item 3.

8. Lakeview HS Café: The video input in the bid is under the screen, should it be moved to the existing video input by the left TV. Yes.

9. Lakeview HS Café: The Video and Mic inputs by cafeteria kitchen, should they be removed? Yes.

818 West 11 Mile Road | Royal Oak, MI 48067 | Tel 248-594-5850 | Fax 248-594-5851 | http://wrighthunter.com

10. Lakeview HS Café: Should the signal going to the projectors and the TV’s be the same signal?

Yes.

11. Lakeview HS Café: Should the Café Overflow projector be able to have a separate video signal and audio source? Yes. With local inputs near screen.

12. Lakeview HS Cafeteria, Jefferson MS Cafeteria, and Jefferson MS Gymnasium: May we be allowed to provide equivalent Aurora Multimedia VPX AV over IP (SDVoE) in place of the Visionary Solutions devices. VPX is 4K 60 with scaling for any input/ source, Dante capable, Intel based and comes with standard 5 yr warranty? Please provide base bid as specified and provide these as a voluntary alternate if desired.

13. Also, if possible in place of the QSC touch controls (we are Q-SYS certified) we would like to see if we could provide Aurora touch controls using ReAX. This is an open source programming language would be just terrific for this application. See item 12.

14. Lakeview HS Cafeteria: The part number of 29896 and your description for the screen for Lakeview HS Café is in conflict of Dalite’s description. Dalite 29896 is and Advantage Deluxe Tensioned 226” D Parallax Stratos 1.0 screen material. This is not the HD Progressive 1.0. The following is the description of the Parallax® Stratos 1.0. This is more of a “grey” colored screen.

“Parallax® Stratos 1.0 is a front projection screen surface designed for high resolution up to 4K.

Suitable for laser projectors with standard throw lenses, its dark gray appearance enhances image color and contrast and is available in sizes up to 16' high seamless. This premium ambient light rejection (ALR) surface is ideal for projects with digital signage and large venue projection needs and is GREENGUARD and GREENGUARD Gold certified to meet and exceed stringent standards for indoor air quality. Parallax Stratos 1.0 can be cleaned with mild soap and water and is mildew resistant.“ Which material do you want? Provide Parallax Stratos 1.0 surface material.

15. Lakeview HS Cafeteria: Distance of current main projector to screen (if possible)? To be field verified. The projector and screen are new and the optimal mounting distance shall be determined by the Contractor to ensure the image fills the screen and optimizes the view and image quality. Please assume the projector will require the standard lens for base bid purposes.

16. Lakeview HS Cafeteria: Is current audio rack to be utilized for this space? No. Revise 4.11 EQUIPMENT CABINETS as follows:

• Revise A, to “It is anticipated that the existing equipment racks will be reused except in Jefferson Middle School Cafeteria and Lakeview High School Cafeteria.”

• Add Item M: The current high school aux gymnasium and cafeteria AV systems currently reside in a shared rack located in a room adjacent to both areas. The cafeteria shall have a new rack with the new equipment installed in the same room but closer to the cafeteria so as to simplify system operation. Reroute or add cabling as necessary. No splices in cabling shall be allowed. Once the cafeteria equipment is removed from the gymnasium system rack, all unused cabling shall be removed and blank panels shall be installed so as to leave a clean installation of the remaining gymnasium components.

17. Lakeview HS Cafeteria: Print says “existing screen to remain”. Wanted to know if this is accurate, which one or both are to remain? Both screen are being replaced. See the specifications and revised drawing.

818 West 11 Mile Road | Royal Oak, MI 48067 | Tel 248-594-5850 | Fax 248-594-5851 | http://wrighthunter.com

18. Lakeview HS Cafeteria: Wire/rewire Cafeteria Auxiliary area speakers to allow routing of local projector to just Auxiliary area. Yes.

19. Lakeview HS Cafeteria: Program QSys Touch Panel to allow for Auxiliary area for audio and video stand-alone operation or as extension of Main Area system. Both. Stand-alone operation or as an extension of Main Area system.

20. Jefferson MS Café: Should the mic input on the projector screen wall be removed from the bid?

See revised sheet number TA102.

21. Jefferson MS Café Should the touch screen controller be moved to replace the existing controller in the wall box? Yes, for the new touch screen controller. Existing Extron touch screen controller, all associated equipment and cables shall be removed.

22. Jefferson MS Café: Should the only mic input be located below the new touch panel location?

Yes.

23. Jefferson MS Gym: Please confirm the projection screen location. See location on sheet number TA103. Mounting height shall be field coordinated for optimal viewing.

24. Jefferson MS Gym: There is some concern about keystone of the projector due to it being close to the screen and the screen being located high on the wall. See answer #15.

25. Jefferson MS Gym: Please confirm the model of the speakers that should be used in this space.

See revised sheet number TA103 – Audio Video System Schematic.

26. Jefferson MS Gym: Is the input marked “A” for Auxiliary only a 1/8” 3.5mm input plate? See RFB section 4.37.A.1.

27. Elementary Schools: Please confirm that all projector locations should be located inside of the stage area. Confirmed. The design intent is to mount the projector and screen in the stage area in an aesthetic, professional manner. The exact mounting method and required hardware shall be field verified by the Contractor prior to installation.

28. Elementary Schools: Are you going to provide a model of short throw projector and appropriate screen for this? Yes. See revised sheets TA104, TA105, TA106, and TA107.

29. Jefferson Middle Cafeteria: Estimated distance for new projector to screen? The projector and screen are new and the optimal mounting distance shall be determined by the Contractor to ensure the image fills the screen and optimizes the view and image quality.

30. Jefferson Middle Gymnasium: Estimated distance for new projector to screen? The projector and screen are new and the projector will be on a portable cart provided by the Contractor.

Distance shall be set to ensure the image fills the screen and optimizes the view and image quality for future use.

31. Please confirm that there are no mandatory alternates required for this bid. Confirmed.

32. Please confirm the size of the screen that will be required with the Short/Ultra Short Throw projectors for the Elementary Schools. The screen size is correct. This assumes the projector can be mounted approximately 2.3 feet from the screen. Provide an appropriate mount and support structure as required. Note also that the projection screen is specified with 3’ of drop so as to allow the screen to be viewed without obstruction from the existing proscenium curtain valance. Mounting considerations will have to be made to accommodate the required drop. Please operate on these assumptions for base bid purposes with field verification before ordering of equipment to confirm the mounting possibilities of both the screen and projector.

818 West 11 Mile Road | Royal Oak, MI 48067 | Tel 248-594-5850 | Fax 248-594-5851 | http://wrighthunter.com

33. The throw of these projectors are less than two-inch and have a limited size of screens to use.

See Item 32.

34. There are currently two cross trusses above the stage area, one being right at the front where the current screen is mounted and the other being approx. 10’ back. Please confirm is we should plan to mount the screen to this back truss. See Item 32.
