FAQ’s

1. Is there any work to do in the kitchen? For example who is providing, installing the cabinets, countertops, and sink? No there is not. We plan to use the existing cabinets that we have in storage, as well as counters and sink fixtures.

2. Does the Coast Guard want us to install batt insulation in the ceiling of the second floor? And what size is desired? 6"

3. Does the Coast Guard want us to install batt insulation in the wall that separates the garage and house? If so what thickness do you prefer? Standard

4. Please verify we will not have to get any local building permits or inspections? I just got off the phone with the city and they said only permits or inspections are for any major changes to electrical or plumbing.

5. Verify we will not have to move or adjust the existing wiring, only add light fixtures back to their existing locations, and add GFI’s at sink locations? This is correct.

6. Verify that we are to tear up the existing tile in the half bathroom down stairs? The removal of existing tile in the downstairs 1/2 bath should be removed.

7. Verify you would like us to reconstruct the soffits in the kitchen as well as in the living room? All soffits throughout the home should be reconstructed

8. Does the Coast Guard have a preference as to what brand of fixtures go back into the bathrooms? No, Nickel preferably to match the rest of the homes fixtures

9. Is there a certain level of finish desired on the drywall or is the standard taping and two coats of mud acceptable? This is acceptable, painted eggshell to finish

10. Is a knock down/splatter drywall finish acceptable on all ceilings? Yes, painted flat white to finish

11. Are painted doors and trim acceptable throughout the whole house? Yes, gloss white preferred

12. Will we have use of the house next door for water and the use of the bathrooms? Yes, you will have access to water from next door

13. Does the Coast Guard want any wall tile in the bathrooms, or only on the floors? Only floors

14. Please verify that there is no other flooring desired on this contract? No other flooring is required besides the bathrooms
