STATEMENT OF WORK FOR FLATBED PRINTER PROCUREMENT, INSTALLATION, SETUP, AND TRAINING

I. Background

The mission of the NIOSH Mining Program is to eliminate mining fatalities, injuries, and illnesses through relevant research and impactful solutions. One way in which that research and those solutions are disseminated to mining stakeholders in through direct interaction via exhibiting at mining conferences and events. The NIOSH Mining Program exhibits at five to ten events yearly, reaching thousands of mining stakeholders. In order to communicate effectively with these stakeholders, the Mining Program must be able to produce high‐quality exhibit materials that both draw the stakeholders into the exhibit and effectively communicate the intended message. This can be done most efficiently with a large format flatbed printer.

II. Purpose

To provide a large‐format flatbed printer that meets stated minimum specifications and perform installation, setup, and training on the use of the printer.

III. Scope of Work

The vendor will provide all labor required to complete the tasks outlined below. The vendor will communicate with the Point of Contact in advance to ensure that all materials have been delivered. The vendor will be required to travel to the Pittsburgh site.

IV. Tasks to be Performed

The vendor shall perform the following tasks:

A. Provide a large‐format flatbed printer that meets the following minimum specifications:

a. Flatbed printing on rigid 4’ x 8’ media in full color using UV cured ink.

b. Support for media up to 50 mm thick.

c. Capable of delivering white, clear, and primer inks in addition to 6‐color ink printing.

d. Use of UV‐LED lamps for curing ink

e. Compatible with Onyx Postershop software

f. Vacuum table to maintain media positioning

g. Print resolution of 1200 dpi

h. Print speed of at least 250 square feet/hour when printing in double CM/YK ink configuration or Draft Mode

i. Compatible media includes paper, vinyl, foam board, acrylic, wood

j. One‐year manufacturer’s warranty

k. Note: suggested make/model known to meet these specifications is the Mimaki JFX200‐

B. Ensure delivery to the NIOSH Pittsburgh site, specifically Building 172, where the Flatbed Printer will be installed.

C. Supervise the physical installation of the Flatbed Printer in Building 172 of the NIOSH Pittsburgh site.

D. Work with NIOSH IT and Health Communications Team personnel to ensure the proper software is installed on the designated computer.

E. Work with NIOSH IT and Health Communications Team personnel to ensure the Flatbed Printer is properly connected to the designated computer and is working with the installed software.

F. Provide training to NIOSH Health Communications Team personnel on the operation of the

Flatbed Printer, including, but not limited to:

a. Powering on

b. Warming up

c. Substrate loading

d. Ink loading

e. Inkjet loading

f. General maintenance

g. Initiating print jobs

h. General troubleshooting

G. Answer questions and provide support materials

V. Government Furnished Materials

The Vendor shall arrange for shipment of the flatbed printer to the NIOSH Pittsburgh site and to Building

172 where the printer will be installed. The Government shall provide the computer hardware and network connection required for operation of the printer.

VI. Period of Performance

The period of performance shall commence upon award of a purchase order and shall continue through the fiscal year and completed no later than October 15, 2018.

VII. Deliverables

Deliverables Date Required

IT setup of Flatbed Printer Within one month of delivery of printer

Training of NIOSH Health Communications personnel Within one month of delivery of printer

VIII. Minimum Vendor Qualifications

The vendor shall be a factory‐trained installation and service provider.
