Technical specification for Optical frequency comb with carrier envelope readout and optical beat detection

One (1) optical frequency comb with the following specifications:

• Er:doped modelocked laser oscillator o Laser Repetition rate is 250 MHz. 125 MHz and 1 GHz will also be considered.

o Center wavelength ~1560 nm o Spectral bandwidth of output >25 nm o Output Power of comb at 1550nm >20 mW o <1e-15 stability at 1s o Monitor port, SC/APC connector.

o Actuators for high bandwidth repetition rate and CEO frequency control.

o Oscillator with repetition rates of 125 MHz or 250 MHz should include an optical fiber interleaver PM fiber interleaver 1 GHz output repetition rate minimum, 2 GHz is preferred.

Fundamental mode suppression 25dB min Interleaver optical output power >15mW

• Fceo signal generation. Including:

o Dispersion managed optical amplifier.

o Non-linear fiber for spectral broadening.

Supercontinuum must also have good coverage at 1156nm.

Extra monitor output port for supercontinuum o Second harmonic generator.

o f-2f interferometer o Photodiode o SMA RF Output: Fceo signal with >40 SNR in 300KHz.

• Fbeat signal generation. Including o Input FC/APC connector for 1 mW of 1156nm cw light.

o Filtered supercontinuum beat note detection with 1156nm cw signal.

o Photodiode o SMA RF Output: Fbeat signal with >40 SNR in 300KHz.

• Control Electronics o All necessary pumps diodes with current and temperature controllers.

o USB or Ethernet monitoring and control.

o Locking servos for Fceo or Fbeat need NOT be included.

o RF input (2) for fast/slow stabilization of Frep.

o RF input (2) for fast/slow stabilization of Fceo.

o “Turn key” automatic mode-locking.

• 3U Rack format is preferred.
