UNITED STATES INTERNATIONAL BOUNDARY AND WATER COMMISSION

(USIBWC)

NOGALES FIELD OFFICE

SCOPE OF WORK FOR

REHAB THREE (3) 10 STAGE VERTICAL LINE SHAFT PUMPS

WITH WATER LUBRICATED SHAFTS AND MECHANICAL SEALS

1. GENERAL

1.1. BACKGROUND

The US International Boundary and Water Commission (USIBWC) operates and maintains the Nogales International Wastewater Treatment Plant (NIWTP) in Rio Rico, Arizona. The NIWTP currently treats approximately 1 7 million gallons per day of raw sewage entering from Nogales, Mexico and Nogales, Arizona. This creates a flow stream with a need for solids removal from the treatment plant on a constant and continuous basis.

1.2. LOCATION

The USIBWC NIWTP is in Rio Rico, Santa Cruz County,just north of Nogales, Arizona.

The treatment plant is situated between the Santa Cruz River that is to the east and 1-19 to the west. There is a railroad track between the highway and the treatment plant.

1.3 SITE CONDITIONS:

Site conditions consist of varying types of weather that can range from one extreme to another. There is also the potential for exposure to wildlife such as javelinas, coyotes, poisonous snakes, and other forms of wildlife.

1.4. SCOPE OF WORK

Three (3) Peerless Pumps 7LB 10 stage water lubricated vertical line shaft pumps.

Serial Numbers are as follows: 739582 A-5, 723570 A-1, 723570 B-1. Pump bowl assemblies will be government provided; Two old pumps needs to be disassembled (one is disassembled) and reassembled using the new bowl pieces provided per manufactures specification. Internal line shafts need refurbishing, replacement, or retooling as necessary to restore correct functionality, and any ancillary parts will be made/refitted to restore correct functionality. These assemblies will be epoxy coated painted at all mechanical flanged joints. Pump housing will be prepared to bare metal and epoxy coated (painted). Mechanical seals and pump shaft bearings are recommended to be O.E.M. Work will be conducted off site. Pumps are already removed from service but bidder will need to package/palletized. Bidder will be responsible for pickup and delivery of the pumps.

1.5. ACCESS TO SITE:

NIWWTP is a restricted Facility; and access to the facility shall be in accordance with existing USIBWC procedures.

1.6. WORKING HOURS:

Working hours shall be from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm local time, Sunday through Saturday except for Federal holidays.
