Sol No. 140R3024Q0101 Planet Ranch Backup Generator Installation
Questions and Answers:
1. In regard to the Generator install, there is reference to a One Line drawing how do we get this document?
The one line drawing is included in this amendment as Attachment 5 – Main Single Line Diagram
2. Will the contractor furnish and install devices D1A, E1A, and PNL-1 that are shown in a single line diagram?
Yes, the contractor will furnish D1A, E1A, and PNL-1 Below are the part numbers required for these devices:
a. D1A = Part number: CMBE3242B225BS, meter and main breaker only option.
b. E1A = Pull Box
c. PNL-1 = Part number: CH32B225R.
3. What size Propane line has been installed to the Generator?
The fuel line connection should be ¾” diameter. (See Generac Spec Sheet, Attachment 8)
4. Who is the Utility feeding the Bunk house?
Arizona Public Service.
5. Is the intent to back up the whole bunk house? If it's not a service rated transfer switch, then the meter main will need a breaker to feed the T-switch and the panel will become a stand-alone main lug panel. Based on the below description it appears that you are splitting the loads some stay in the New D1A meter panel, and some go into PNL-1. I see the need for a Nema 3r wireway above and below D1A to rework the load wires that you would be diverting to new Panel PNL-1 if not we have code concerns on making slices in a non-UL listed box.
The transfer switch will service the whole bunk house.
See Statement of Work 4.1
6. Do we need to supply the missing material for the project (wire and fittings)?
Yes, See Section 4 of Statement of Work with track changes.
7. Is a junction box needed to extend house branch wiring to new panel location?
A new pull box for house circuits is acceptable. The contractor will need to install two (2) pull boxes (E1A and E1B). This can be captured on an as-built drawing. We would still want E1A to be installed between the EG set and ATS so that the power conductors to the ATS can be pulled without damaging the insulation. NEC limits conduit runs to be 360 degrees of bends to prevent conductor damage when pulling.
