Black Canyon Powerplant is located at Black Canyon Diversion Dam, approximately 6 miles northeast of Emmett, Idaho, in Gem County.

Principal features of work include: Separation of power and control cables in the Generator room, install new power cable tray, and to provide applicable testing.

c. Remove and dispose of existing power cabling to excitation system and VV1A and VV2A cabinets.

2. Install new power cables in new cable tray to replace removed power cable.

3. Provide applicable testing to verify resistance of bolted joints, insulation resistance, and shield continuity.

c. Describe methods to protect, and repair if damaged, existing improvements and utilities at or near jobsite.

d. Describe methods for removing temporary structures and facilities, cleanup, and rehabilitating site after completion of construction activities.

1.04 PROJECT CONDITIONS

A. Government land as shown on drawings may be used for required construction facilities.

B. Location, construction, operation, maintenance, and removal of construction facilities on Government land will be subject to approval of COR.

C. Do not interfere with work of other contractors or Government in the vicinity, or with reservations made by Government for use of such land.

D. Housing for construction personnel will not be permitted on Government land.

1.05 WORK HOURS

A. Workdays are Monday through Friday:

1. Contractor will only be allowed on site when an authorized Government representative (i.e., Government inspector) is present.

2. Material deliveries and removal of materials from jobsite shall not be made on weekends and holidays.

B. Material deliveries require inspection by Government before being allowed onsite:

1. Coordinate deliveries with COR 24 hours in advance to avoid unanticipated delays during deliveries.

C. Refer to Section 01 14 30 – Interruption of Service.

1.06 OTHER CONTRACTS

4. Interruption of service scheduling will depend upon power demand requirements and related operating conditions:

a. Interruption of services may be scheduled during off-peak periods, nights, or weekends.

b. Government reserves the right to schedule interruption of services for any period during 24-hour day, any day of week.

c. Contractor will be informed of type of interruption of services available and restrictions prior to start of construction.

5. Interruption of service period:

a. Permitted: November 1 to March 31.
