Request for Information (RFI) Government Responses

RFI Set 1

(8/16/2022)

Note: Government responses are provided in reverse chronological order of receipt. (i.e. Most recently received to oldest received.)

The following clarifying information is provided in response to the following Request for Information:

RFI 1:

The highlighted portion below shows that a "Certificate of Compliance" be presented upon delivery. Is this in regard to the compatibility of Duracoat and catchment systems? If so, do you have a basis of compliance such as an ASTM or FM testing criteria. If not, is it based on the ASTM E1592/1680/1646 testing? Also on the specification, the flashing is also requiring E1592/1680/1646 testing, however this testing criteria is for roofing panel, and not flashing, so your flashing will not have that testing. Please advise how you want us to quote this.

Referenced picture:

RFI 1 Government Response:

What is referenced in Attachment 1, Roofing Material Specifications, is a certificate of compliance for its compatibility of catchments. We (Hawaii Volcanoes National Park) are a public water supply, and our requirements are outlined by Clean Drinking Water division for the state for NSF grade materials and finish that touch any water collection here. Testing just has to meet or exceed, not sure if Durapon has new testing criteria as outlined in the vendors email.

As long as it is certified to meet use in water catchment systems to protect end users from drinking where leach from the coatings.

Flashing not having been tested is fine, this testing is to ensure the food grade compatibility of the finish from the factory on the collection surfaces, and flashing has minimal collection interactions for the park's structures.
