Sol_140P6018R0029 Questions & Answers

1. What is the total width (including the covered portion) of a typical siding board on each building? Is there any unseen millwork, bevel, chamfer, etc....on the boards, or are they straight cut on all sides?

Answer: We found the following materials during our investigation (Note that we took a very sample and that these structures are nearly 175 years old and have a great deal of variation):

Building HS-1 West Gable End - 9.5" wide, straight cut boards with a 6.5" revel Building HS-1 East Gable End - 7.5" wide, tapered boards with a 6.5" revel; (roughly 11/16" tapered to 3/16") Building HS-2 West Gable End - 6" wide, straight cut boards with a 5.5" revel Building HS-2 East Gable End - 7" wide, straight cut boards with a 5.5" revel
