Question #1: Is it in the parks attention to replace just the upper and lower sashes and install new window stops. Are the window frames included in the bid?

Answer: The entire window is to be replaced.

Question #2: Can architectural drawings, details or engineering specifications for the product window design be made available for this project?

Answer: Aluminum Clad, Wood Windows, Andersen Windows, Inc; A-Series or similar.

Question #3: Is there a widow schedule which lists sizes, specifications, and/or additional details for the replacement windows?

Answer: No window schedule. The approximate window sizes are listed in the SOW and should be field verified and approved by the COR in writing before ordering.

Question #4: Are the replacement windows required to be tinted and/or have a specific UV rating Answer: Dual pane, Low-E4, no tint

Question # 5: Do the replacement windows have to be tempered glass?

Answer: Yes, in accordance with requirements in the most current building code.

Question #6: According to some standards, windows are to be impact resistant or protected if the building is located within one mile of the coast where the wind speed is 110 mph or greater. Does this apply to the Fort Frederica National Monument? If so, what is the rating requirement for these new windows?

Answer: Yes, follow window requirements in the most current building code.

Question #7: Are there applicable Georgia or National Building Codes?

Answer: Yes, the current 2022 building code is to be used.

Question #8: Does the NPS prefer a specific window manufacturer/brand (Anderson, Pella, Marvin and Koelbe) Answer: No. As long as they meet the same salient characteristics specified in the statemen of work.

Question #9: Is there a designated dry and secure area to store the windows upon their delivery?

Answer: No, the windows will be best stored in the contractor’s construction trailer, that can be kept on site.

Question # 10: Is there a designated area for a dumpster for construction debris to be placed?

Answer: Yes, the parks COR will coordinate a location that doesn’t impede the visitors and is near the

VC.

Question #11: Does the contractor need to provide a portable toilet, or may they use the existing public restroom facilities?

Answer: The contractor can utilize the public bathroom located at the VC.
