ADDITIONAL PHOTOS / QUESTIONS AND RESPONSES
BISCAYNE NATIONAL PARK – GENERATORS FOR ELLIOTT KEY – 140P5422Q0005
Note: The following questions were received prior to the deadline for questions which was 02/11/2022 at 01:00PM EST as per the solicitation.
1. What is the Voltage Requirements? i.e. 480 3 phase?
See additional photos below for more information on generators including labels and tags.
2. As you know generator supply chains are getting longer so to best estimate our ability to acquire these generators in the time allowed I was hoping to get some clarification on the performance period. You state it is a 90 day performance period, but you show the end date of the contract as 30Sep2022. When do you estimate the performance period to start? And will it be possible if it starts before 01Jul2022 to get it extended to the 30Sep2022 completion date?
The performance period will start when the award is made and will last long enough to cover the lead time for the items and installation. So ultimately, 90 days is our preference but there will be flexibility when evaluating quotes due to the lead times on generators. Estimated lead time for items and estimated time for installation shall be included in your quote and these will be factored in when evaluating quotes.
Exact period of performance days will be determined upon award.
3. When you state one of the generators is to be a prime generator is to be aluminum house, does this mean one generator is to have an enclosure? Is this generator located outside?
The generator is in an enclosure that is already in place (the enclosure does not need to be replaced). See additional photos below.
4. Would you be able to provide a list of tools, transport, loading and lifting equipment that will be available to develop the project to unload the Generators from the truck at Convoy, Point, barge load and unload to transport the generators at the Elliot Key finally, and move it to the performance place?
No tools will be provided. The NPS can provide transportation and a forklift support at origin and destination per the times in the scope. If that route is taken contractor will have to be on time and work during the hours specified in the SOW.
5. Will NPS staff such as forklift operators, barge pilot, etc. be available to work with the contractor to develop the project?
The NPS can provide transportation and a forklift support at origin and destination per the times in the scope. If that route is taken contractor will have to be on time and work during the hours specified.
6. Regarding the ventilation louvers, would the NPS be able to approve a new model or design that also complies with technical specifications of material and quality?
Yes, if there is a cutout or it is large enough for the louvered windows that have the exhaust pipe (see provided pictures).
