About this file

This document contains vendor questions regarding solicitation number 140P5323R0058 from Great Smoky Mountains National Park for the purchase of dumpsters. The vendor inquires about pushing back the delivery dates for the prototype dumpster from October 31, 2023 to September 30, 2023 and delivery of the remaining 19 dumpsters from February 15, 2024 to mid-March 2024. The Park responds that delivery of the prototype by October 31 is acceptable but would prefer delivery of the remaining 19 dumpsters on February 15 to support campground opening schedules. The Park also requires the prototype dumpster be delivered to the site for fit testing with their sideloading collection trucks before full production to ensure specifications are met.

Vendor questions GRSM Dumpsters 140P5323F0058

1. If there can be push back on the delivery dates of the prototype and well as the remaining 19 dumpsters? Would it be possible to deliver the prototype by 30th oct 2023 and the remaining 19 dumpsters by mid march 2024?

Prototype delivery by October 31, 2023 is acceptable, however we would like an earlier delivery of February 15, 2024, mid- March does not support the Parks campground opening schedule.

2. The prototype dumpster will this need to be shipped for approval to the park. Or will photos work?

The prototype must be tested for fit with sideloading dumpster truck currently under contract for trash removal so delivery of one dumpster needs to be included in the bid price. If further modifications need to be made it should be estimated as three one-way deliveries between the manufacturing site and Park Maintenance yard to 107 Park Headquarters Rd, Gatlinburg, TN. The fit test will be witnessed by a Professional Staff Engineer, and either be accepted or rejected, modifications will be identified by the Park Engineer and returned with the dumpster for design incorporation to the manufacturer. A successful fit test implies acceptance, and production may then begin on the remaining 19 Dumpsters.
