Vendor questions

1. Appendix A “Roadside Prism Clearing. Please explain the expected frequency for the “Clear and Mow Zone” during the annual contract

Clearing will be just the road prism; no mowing or side arm work during the growing season.

2. Vista, Overlook Clearing. Typically, these have steep 2:1 slope, the brushy material be spread onsite after cutting or does everything need to be removed from the site. It is understood that tree trimming debris needs to be removed

Generally, all the material can be left in place and cut in pieces so it is in contact with the ground.

3. On Campbell Lead Road, there are several low hanging power wires, who is responsible for coordinating with the local power providers

The contractor.

4. Can Elkmont Campground work be performed after the site is closed for the season as to avoid disturbing the campers.

Yes.

5. What are the requirements of hazardous trees that have fallen into the creek?

The majority of the material should be removed.

6. On Gatlinburg Spur there are several burned out trees. If they fall within 100' area, are they to be removed as well?

If cut as hazard trees they should be removed per the specifications.

7. Any logs in the contracted area that are on the ground prior to commencement of new contract, do they need to be removed as part of the new contract?

No

8. How will payment be determined: The bid is based on specific miles and acres of work. Is it the contractor’s responsibility to: measure the said work after the fact, using GPS coordinates or will the COR also measure
