Mow Plan Symbology Descriptions
Improved mowing entails typical mowing to a lawn-like fashion with grass blades remaining approximately two to three inches high on a regular schedule through the growing season.
Field mowing entails high mowing of these areas.
Trimming entails brush and shrub clipping, weed-eating , etc. to maintain roadways and parking lots and other facilities designated as trimming areas.
Buffer zones for creeks and wetlands are 35' while the river mandates a 50' buffer zone. In these areas, trimming or mowing is only allowed to maintain roadways, parking lots, and picnic areas where necessary and designated on the mow plan maps for each park unit.
In areas where Georgia Asters are present, mowing must be confined to the non-growing season (Winter Only Mow) during the months of December 1 through March 31.
Winter Only mowing is a once a year mow to be completed between
Dec. 1st and March 31st.
