About this file
This document contains questions and answers related to a federal contract opportunity to install vehicle denial barriers at Independence National Historical Park. The contractor will be responsible for all required testing, inspections, and permits from city, state, and local authorities. Traffic control measures must meet local and state requirements to keep areas of the park accessible during construction. The contractor must provide documentation of existing conditions prior to work and address any unsuitable materials with the contracting officer. The contractor's staging area is designated on the contract drawings. The subsurface design is based on 2002 construction documents, and the contractor must obtain a geotechnical report conforming to those recommendations. Typical subsurface conditions for pavement can be referenced from the local DOT standards for bidding purposes.
