About this file

This document provides responses to questions from Amendment 01 of Solicitation 140L6424Q0008 issued by the Bureau of Land Management Arizona State Office. The solicitation is for mechanical thinning of approximately 50 acres in the Skull Valley Shaded Fuel Break using chainsaws. Question 1 asked if a brush mower could be used instead of chainsaws, and the answer specified that chainsaws are required according to the statement of work due to the steep and rocky terrain not being accessible to wheeled or tracked equipment, and because trees need to be limbed and piled.

Solicitation: 140L6424Q0008 Skull Valley Shaded Fuel Break (Phase 3)

Amendment 01

The purpose of this amendment (01) is to respond to all questions received during the solicitation phase.

Question 1): Are we able to use a brush mower, such as a DR Field & Brush mower?

Answer 1): Statement of work calls for Chainsaws to be used. Reason is, it’s too steep and rocky to get wheel or tracked equipment to the area. As well as it calls for trees to be limbed and piled.
