About this file
This document is a set of Questions and Answers (Q&A) for Solicitation 140L3924R0010 for Microwave/Internet Services 2024 for Burning Man, issued by the Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management Nevada Region.
The Q&A provides clarification on the location of the Comnet Tower and the JOC Server Room, which are on the provided JOC map. It confirms that only company vehicles supporting communications services are authorized for official use, and that there is no space for storage of excess equipment - previous contractors provided their own storage. The Q&A also states that the IT support team is required to stay onsite overnight, with the government providing power hookups and port-a-johns, but no further IT support plans for the 2023 event are available. The services are not for event participants, but for approximately 150 staff. The successful contractor is required to provide services for all three events, which is 18 days total as stated in the Statement of Work.

Solicitation 140L3924R0010 Questions and Answers
Looking for clarification on Comnet Tower and JOC Server Room, it is Unclear on where the Comnet Tower is located and want to make sure the JOC Server Room is either at another location or is it the BLM JOC?
Please see the Attached JOC Map, COW is in bottom right side of laydown and the server room is located where it says ESD work site on left.
I noticed that some vehicles are prohibited, what vehicles are permitted on site?:
All company vehicles supporting communications services are authorized for official use only. So no going into the city for recreation purposes.
I also noticed that this event is built annually, but are you able to tell me where our equipment will be built and housed? Do we have to build our own area to house our equipment? Equipment (servers and switches) goes into buildings that will be on site.
There is no space for storage of excess equipment. Previous contractors provided own storage and set for internet services.
Are you able to provide me with a blueprint or map of the area or space assigned for the IT Support team?
JOC map provided.
Will my team be required to stay onsite overnight? Or are we allowed to stay offsite?
Yes. Usually they provide own housing (trailers), but we do provide power hook-ups and port-a-jons.
Are you able to provide any IT Support information or plans from the 2023 event?
No.
Are we anticipated about 80k people this year?
Their services are not for participants, just staff, so about 150 people.
Are we required for all three events, i.e. 18 days?
Yes… it is in statement of work.
