Questions emailed to the Contracting Officer

Q48: Are we supplying the boxes, tape and “packing material”?

If so, what type of box and packing material?

A48: A lot of stuff will be boxed already, the contractor is expected to supply boxes and appropriate materials for anything that is not. You will need to further define you boxing needs upon post-award walk-thru and coordination.

Q49: Would E-bins be accepted to lower the waste from all the boxes? A49: Type of boxes, crates, bins etc. is up to the contractor as long as they do the job and is taken away by the contractor after the move. Does not have to be cardboard.

Q50: Are we packing the libraries? Or will staff have that packed prior to our arrival?

A14: The dockets area is a file library. The vendor is responsible for packing up and moving this area using carts. Staff will be onsite to assist in the moving process (i.e., subject matter experts for those file areas).

Q51: Can you please clarify the cleaning aspect? Are we just sweeping and vacuuming? Or shampooing the carpets?

A51: Broom swept or vacuumed only.

Q52: Are we expected to patch and fill holes in the drywall?

A52: Minor painting and patching as required.

Q53: What is the budget for this contract? A54: We don’t reveal our budget, but have developed an internal estimate based upon other moves and recommendations of other agencies. We believe this contract to be fully funded based upon that internal information.

Q54: The post mentions decommissioning of all remaining contents of the old building. What does “decommission” interpret to for our company? Would we be able to dispose of it? Break it down? If you could provide a bit more information on that, it would be a great help.

A54: Everything that does not get moved to the new facility will need to be dealt with by the contractor; disposed of, sold, shredded, scrapped, whatever is legal and efficient for the contractor.

Q55: The logistical constraints mentioned regarding the Fire Coordination Center and the Public Room. Are there any special circumstance for moving these rooms? Are they odd locations to get to? If that could be clarified a bit that would be great.

A55: Should have been explained during the site visit, but since these functions are somewhat separate from the main office, and are being moved to separate areas, we were just pointing out that they may need some additional logistical consideration. It’s not a monolithic move.

Q56: Lastly, would there be any kind of security we would need or would we have full access to that location with our employees?

A56: All your employees will be required to sign-in with photo identification cards and have nothing that prevents them from being on in or on a federal building or installation. Government workers will be present for escort duties when required.
