About this file

This document is an Amendment (No. 0001) for the Apple Valley Fire Station Heli-Base HVAC Replacement project, containing a series of questions and answers regarding the HVAC system replacement. The Q&A addresses three key technical aspects: (1) existing ducting, which can be salvaged if in good condition, (2) zone control panel and dampers, which must be replaced if non-salvageable to ensure a climate-controlled environment safe for human occupancy, and (3) attic access, which will not require modification for system removal and installation. The amendment provides clarification on the scope of work, indicating that components in good condition can be retained while non-functional parts must be replaced to restore the facility's climate control capabilities.

Amendment No. 0001

APPLE VALLEY FIRE STATION HELI-BASE HVAC REPLACEMENT

(Q)The existing ducting is hard piped and insulated throughout the attic, up until 3-4' from the ceiling grilles. The existing hard pipe is in perfect condition. We would recommend keeping and using the existing ducting. Please advise if all new ducting would be required for this job.

(A) As described in the S.O.W parts, components including ducting that are salvageable will not need to be replaced.

(Q) It appears that the zone controls have failed. Is a replacement zone control panel and dampers needed or will they need to be removed?

(A) As described in the S.O.W all parts and components that are non-salvageable must be replaced to bring the facility back to a climate-controlled environment safe for human occupancy.

(Q) Will the attic access be modified to accommodate the removal and installation of this system?

(A) No, attic access will not be modified to accommodate removal and installation of this system. No modification should be needed.
