PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT

Cleaning of Government Quarters located at the United States Geological Survey USGS Guam Magnetic Observatory.

Project Background and Objective

The USGS Guam Magnetic Observatory was constructed in 1966-67 on Anderson Air Force Base property on the northwest side of the island of Guam. The observatory contains 6 buildings comprising of approximately 31 acres of land. The buildings currently include two Quarters Buildings (both occupied), a Shop/Garage Building, a Variations Building, an Absolutes Building, and an Office Building (Fig. 1). The observatory serves as one of the links in the U.S. Geological Survey’s network of seismic and magnetic observatories. The site collects vital scientific data that is utilized by both domestically and internationally; therefore, the upkeep and maintenance of these buildings are critical to the operation and maintenance of the site.

The main objective of this project is to clean the interior of the two Quarters buildings. The interiors of both buildings are utilized as rental property for visiting officials (Fig 2 and 3). In most cases the visiting official will clean their respective areas and to some extent the bathrooms and kitchen. However, since there is no way of knowing if the quarters will be fully occupied throughout the entire year, it is necessary to do periodic maid-like cleaning twice a month (2nd week and 4th week).

Period of Performance (Estimated, based on time of award)

Base Year: February 1, 2022 through January 31, 2023 Option Year One: February 1, 2023 through January 31, 2024 Option Year Two: February 1, 2024 through January 31, 2025 Option Year Three: February 1, 2025 through January 31, 2026 Option Year Four: February 1, 2026 through January 31, 2027 6-Month Extension (FAR 52.217-8) February 1, 2027 through July 31, 2027
