Are we responsible for providing the roll off box and for arranging the disposal of the waste or would you provide that? Yes, the vendor is responsible for providing roll offs. Question 2: Does the scope of work only include the small lab, the mop room, the warehouse and the ware yard? No, there is the main laboratory, the battery charging room, the equipment test room, a mop area located in the heated warehouse, the cold warehouse, and the ware yard. Please refer to the facility emergency exit plan for the room names.
Question 3: For plumbing, do we need to completely remove all water lines that come out of a wall into those rooms (e.g. cutting and capping pipe down to inside the wall) or would a cap outside the wall would be sufficient? All plumbing and electrical shall be stubbed behind the wall or to the nearest junction box above the ceiling and capped off.
Question 4: Regarding electrical, do we need to remove any lights? No ceiling lights shall be removed. However, not identified in the SOW is a
6 ft. wall-mounted outlet strip in the main laboratory that shall be removed if the USGS does not remove it first.
Question 5: Do we need to re-paint any walls to a color similar to the adjacent wall? No, patch and prime the holes in the walls following Level
2, ASTM C 840.19a or the most current version.
Question 6: Do we need to permanently close (e.g.
fill with concrete) all floor drains in these rooms or just the one for the mop basin? Sealing the drains is to include a flexible plug inserted into the drain to prevent any additional contaminants from entering the drain once the sampling and cleaning with 10% bleach solution has been completed. No concrete is to be used which would render the floor drains unusable for the next tenant.
Question 7: Are we going to have onsite access to electricity (110 V) and water during the field work, including use of onsite restrooms for our personnel? Yes, the facility will be vacated of
USGS personnel, but all utilities shall remain
on. Contractor personnel shall be allowed the use of onsite restrooms.
Question 8: Do you have an inventory or

/ hazardous wastes that would need to be disposed off? The vendor is responsible for estimating the amount of hazardous waste that would be the result of cleaning and rinsing all equipment, p-traps, cabinets, walls, and floors. All rinsate is to be captured and sampled for hazardous constituents prior to disposal. If the samples reveal that the rinsate is below action levels, then the rinsate may be disposed of as non-hazardous waste.
Question 9: Is USGS going to remove all materials
(not furniture) observed in the pictures, (e.g.
warehouse materials, wood, etc.) Yes, all USGS owned property that is not identified in the SOW will be removed prior to the vendor starting work. Any materials left will be disposed of as trash.
