Questions for BERTHOLF Solicitation

1. Regarding Work Item 7, paragraph 3.7: Would the required sea trial occur outside of the listed ship availability, or will it have to be performed before March 9, 2023?

0. Response: Sea trials will be conducted in conjunction with the cutter’s scheduled shakedown cruise following the dockside period of performance.

1. Regarding Work Item 10, paragraph 3.2.2: I would like to clarify that the contractor cannot utilize shore power and our own transformer/equipment to power the temporary refrigerated stores equipment?

1. Response: Shore power may be available for use if there are unused receptacles; however, the temporary refrigerated stores should not rely on shore power in the event that shore power is not available.

1. Regarding Work Item 14, paragraph 3.2: Can you please define the extent of spot coating there is to be removed?

2. Response: Extent of repair is defined in paragraph 1.1 of Work Item 14.

1. Work Item 11:

3. Paragraph 1.2 shows Automatic Bus Transfer switch (ABT) as GFP, paragraph 3.7 of work item states “contractor furnished ABT” . Please confirm the new ABT, piece # 3 on material list sheet 1 (identified as piece 2 on sheets 9 and 12) of drawing 750-WMSL-320-593 rev. B is GFP.

0. Response: The ABT identified in paragraph 1.2: Government Furnished Property will be supplied by the government. Paragraph 3.7 should read as follows:

0. ABT (3-57-1) Installation. Install Government Furnished ABT in accordance with Coast Guard Drawing 750-WMSL-320-593.

0. Please be advised that an updated revision has been issued for drawing 750-WMSL-320-593. Most recent version is REV C.

3. The circuit breakers identified in table 3 of work are all LLM with lead times of 8-12 weeks. Contractor recommends these be provided as GFP or as subject of separate RFQ with award date NLT September 1, 2022.

1. Response: the government will not be able to provide the identified circuit breakers. Material is to remain as contractor furnished equipment.
