STATEMENT OF WORK
Bureau of Indian Affairs, MIB, Room 1071 Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) Installation Project
2.0 STATEMENT OF WORK
2.1 OBJECTIVE
The objective of this effort is to remove any debris, clean floor, and prepare surface of approximately 350 square feet (SF) of floor surface in Room 1071, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Museum Housing Space (see paragraph 4. Drawings) museum collection space of the Main Interior Building (MIB), which is located at 1849 C St. NW, Washington, DC. The contractor will be required to provide a quote for labor, tools, materials, equipment, and supervision for placing luxury vinyl tiles (LVT).
2.2 SCOPE OF WORK
2.2.1 Technical Specifications
There is no brand name requirement. Contractor will have the responsibility to match the color of tiling from flooring in Room 1071. The flooring must be luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) or low VOC emitting tile. Adhesives must also emit low VOCs, total VOCs of 0.5 mg/m2 –hr. or less is acceptable.
NOTE: Before submitting a quote, the contractors are required to perform a walkthrough of the area, at no cost to the Government, so that color schemes/brand can be verified/matched, and field measurement of the area is verified.
2.2.2 Performance Requirements
1. Measure the space to determine the exact quantity of luxury vinyl tiles needed to be placed for the designated room.
2. Clean/ remove any debris, dust, and residual glue.
3. Prepare surface for tiling, other related materials (i.e., waterproofing).
4. Move three large cabinets to tile beneath.
5. Apply the applicable installation method to the area in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
6. Install luxury vinyl tiles in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
7. Dispose of all debris and packaging materials off-site.
3.0 General Requirements
1. The Contractor must attend an onsite walk-through of the space to ensure they understand the scope of work and existing conditions.
2. All materials and practices used must be per manufacturer recommendations and governing regulations.
3. All outages or other impacts to building use must be submitted to the POC at least ten (10) business days in advance and approved by the POC in writing by e-mail before taking place.
4. The contractor must always have an employee(s) onsite in a supervisory position that one of the subcontractors are working should that be the case.
5. Contractor Qualifications: Firm, Company, and/or principal specializing in this scope of work with at least five (5) years of documented successful experience.
6. Contractor personnel will conduct themselves in a manner that reflects favorably upon the Contractor, the Office of Facilities and Administrative Services, and the Department of the Interior. The Contractor and its personnel will comply with the guidelines and requirements established by Departmental physical security officials.
7. All practices must be per all relevant safety standards, including but not limited to National Electric Code, OSHA requirements, and the GSA P100 standard (including all standards and codes incorporated by reference).
8. The Contractor will provide all required PPE and safety equipment.
9. Contractor is representing, by acceptance of a contract, that it has thoroughly researched all applicable codes and regulations regarding this scope of work.
10. All waste products will become the property of the Contractor on removal and must be disposed of per all local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including (where applicable) the US Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR).
11. The Contractor is expected to secure pricing for all associated labor and components at contract acceptance. Any price increases from the contract date are the Contractor's responsibility.
12. Parking will not be provided.
13. Work may occur during business hours, defined as Monday through Friday from 6 AM until 8 PM excluding federal holidays, unless the work will create service outages, dust, noise, or other irritants that would prevent the full and free use of the space by the Department.
14. The Ramp D loading dock is available only for loading and unloading supplies and materials and only after coordination with the POC. The loading dock capacity is restricted to a 24-foot box truck.
