About this file

This document is an Amendment to a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for a Closed Cycle Magnetic Field Enabled Probe Station. The amendment clarifies the number and location of the required sensors (total of 8), confirms that a 4-channel temperature controller is acceptable, and provides answers to several other technical questions related to the magnetic field magnitude, cooling requirements, and probe arm specifications. The period of performance has been extended from 3 months to no later than 10 months after receipt of order. There are no other changes to the original solicitation at this time. Interested vendors are instructed to submit any additional questions and quotations via email to the Contract Specialist.

Amendment 1 Date: June 27, 2024 No. of Pages: 2

This Amendment reflects the following change to period of performance, and clarifications to the specifications listed in the solicitation, in response to four (4) questions:

1. To clarify, customer needs total of 8 sensors, 4 on probe arms (per c,iii), + 1 on the chuck, 1 on the shield, 1 on superconducting magnet and 1 on cold head (per b.viii)? In b.6 it is stated that “Temperature Controller with at least 4 channels for sensor inputs, and at least 2 heater control loops and PID control.” Can the solution supply the temperature controller with 4 channels, and customer can just switch the cable with connector from probe arm to probe arm to verify all temperatures and switch cold head connector with another connector?

ANSWER: Yes, this is correct, there is no need to monitor all four sensors on the four probe arms simultaneously.

1. Is 2.5T field magnitude listed expected at chuck base temperature or over all the temperature range (<10K to >400K per b.i and b.ii)?

ANSWER: 2.5T maximum field magnitude at base temperature

1. Is water cooled compressor expected?

ANSWER: Process cooling water is available for use with this system.

1. Can you clarify the specifications on “two integrated micro-manipulated arms with dc cabling and probe card” and if these are needed at all?

ANSWER: Six probe arms in total: Four probe arms with 67GHz probes/cabling, AND 2 probe arms with DC probe/cabling.

The period of performance/delivery date is extended from 3 months, to no later than (NLT) 10 months after receipt of order.

There are no other changes to the solicitation at this time.
