Riverside Facilities Structure Demolition Site Visit Q&A
1. Is testing for Asbestos part of the 24 days to complete.
I would consider the asbestos/hazardous materials testing as part of the 24 days deadline since it should only take a few days to complete, but the deadline itself is flexible due to the influence of COVID19.
2. In regards to removing the cinder block structure, a contractor asked: during removing if part of the concrete slab breaks how do they repair. One option is to cut the asphalt out one ft. from cinder block on all three sides, the other is to saw cut from one green house to the other 19’ and 6’ deep which is a total of 114 sq. Ft. or they can try removing it. If it breaks figure out what to do at that point.
Based on the contract, adjacent concrete structures are included in the demolitions so technically the concrete slab can be removed as part of the contract since the sidewalks are also being removed. Talking with Warren, the saw cut from one green house to the other is a more clean option.
