Hay for Double Devil Wild Horse Corrals (129AC720Q0055) Questions and Answers Document
Subsequent versions of this document will contain questions from all previous versions.
Version 3: 04/29/2020
Q7: Is there a minimum and maximum weight requirement for both large and small bales?
A7: No there is no minimum or maximum weight of requirement based on bale size. The size of hay bales vary with the market and availability. Based on bales received in the past which are typically 4’ X 4’ X 8’ the approximate weight was one ton each.
Q8: Solicitation states approximate bale size of 4x4, would 3x4 or 3x3 bales be accepted?
A8: Yes.
Q9: Based on all the questions do you anticipate extending the closing date?
A9: Yes, see Amendment 0002.
Version 2: 04/23/2020
Q5: On the small squares the solicitation states the small bales to be 3 string, can they be banded with six bands?
A5: Yes.
Q6: Will you consider awarding to one source if they can meet all the requirements within the solicitation?
A6: Yes.
Version 1: 04/20/2020
Q1: I see you are requesting 4x4 square bales. Does the corrals have equipment to handle bales that large?
A1: Yes, the government has equipment of sufficient size to handle the bale sizes requested.
Q2: I see the corral will accept small square bales. Is there any specific tonnage you would like in large squares versus small squares?
A2: We do not have a specific tonnage for large vs. small bales.
Q3: Can the full 1,000 tons of hay be delivered by the end of this December instead of spaced out for an entire year?
A3: Unlikely but possible, depending upon number of horses and storage capacity. See amendment 1.
Q4: Can a vendor leave equipment on-site for unloading during the contract period?
A4: Yes. The contractor would be responsible for the equipment. The government assumed no liability or no responsibility for vendor equipment left at the corrals.
