About this file

This document contains questions and answers regarding a modular building painting project. The questions clarify that the aluminum railings, lace skirting and roof of one building need cleaning or painting with a non-reflective metal roof paint, while other components like the aluminum decking require a paint suitable for aluminum surfaces. The answers also indicate that paragraph 3.04 was inadvertently included in the solicitation package and can be ignored, and that the Contracting Officer's Representative will inspect and accept the completed work.

Modular Building Painng Quesons and Answers Version 2

1. The railing and ramps look like anodized aluminum. It will be difficult to paint and provide any warranty that the paint will sck. Can we wax and polish?

The aluminum railings do not need to be painted only cleaned. The decking needs to be painted with a non-reflecve paint that can be used on aluminum.

2. Roofing-do you want a metal paint or a Gaco type paint?

Metal roofing paint is fine

3. Lace Skirng-Are we to paint that as well?

Lace does not need to be painted.

4. Is it the government's intent to paint the roof(s) per the Scope Of Work Yes, one of the two buildings has a metal roof and that needs to be painted.

5. I would also like to verify the requirement in Division 09 Finishes for a Technical Representave as follows:

“The technical representative will be the COR of the project or designated location representative. As far as removing the additional verbiage this was added by our Engineering branch for a previous painting project. Both para 3.04 can be removed from package.”

Paragraph 3.04 may be ignored, it was included inadvertently. The COR or designated locaon monitor will inspect and accept work. The contractor is responsible for ensuring quality workmanship and adhering to manufacturer specificaons and recommendaons.
