QUESTIONS DURING PRE-PROPOSAL MEETING:

During the pre-proposal meeting several questions were raised. Each question and answer is provided below:

Five Digit Numbers listed with each question refer to Section B – Schedule of Items

1. Provide details on - 25701 Retaining Wall lines and grades.

Answer: This retaining wall includes a portion about 40 feet wide, parallel to the road. Our goal is to build it back up to grade. It will require hiring a Geotechnical Engineer to come in and design. Our goal is to keep the road open, even it is single lane, during the entire project. You can propose closing access but would need to include what the value is to close access.

2. Is a traffic control plan required?

Answer: Yes it is required and must conform to MUTCD Standards.

3. Will there be additional add on for the borrow source?

Answer: NO Update: April 13, 2018

4. The repair items for the bridge locations 20201. How much deleterious material will we be required to remove and get rid of?

Answer: We feel that the cubic feet of deleterious material is accurate in our Schedule.

5. What is required for the work in the bridge locations?

Answer: Sand blast and refer to standard construction technique.

6. Is the contractor required to do sampling on the aggregate and crushing?

Answer: Yes, the vendor is responsible for quality control.

7. The bridge railing photos show scratch and scuff marks. Do these need repaired?

Answer: The intent is to realign those rails that are misaligned. Some of the rails are not to code and do not have the proper approach. The intent is to have the contractor replace the existing and realign them to code.

8. When does the road normally open and close.

Answer: That is variable depending on weather. The road is mostly on a northern exposure while the gravel pit is on a southern exposure.

OTHER INFORMATION:

Vendors should pay special attention to Sections L and M of the solicitation and the date and time responses are due.
