Attachment 8 – Questions and Answers Amendment 0001
Q1: Please confirm what locations the Power disconnects are to be installed for the DeMag monorail cranes in BSL- 4 and the 2 located in BSL-3.
A1: Please see attached drawing showing locations within the rooms. All conduits, fittings, and enclosures to be 316 stainless steel material, and boxes to be NEMA 4X rated.
Q2: Will GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) be required when anchoring Conduit and disconnect boxes to the walls?
A2: Per FLAD (Designer of Record) on previous projects within containment, penetrations under 2 inches are acceptable without GPR. GPR will be allowed but at the contractor’s expense. All penetrations into the walls will require DOW 786 sealant to be applied to seal the penetrations.
Q3: Will the facility be providing the scissor lifts for the work that will be performed on this project?
A3: The facility can provide scissor lifts and man lifts to the space with adequate notice and with a signed Release of Liability in Compliance with FAR 52.247-5 “Government Furnished Equipment With or Without Operators”
Q4: Need to verify we can take our tools into the lab areas.
A4: Contractors would be able to bring their own tools in and out of the three necropsy spaces (as science in those areas is not active and is not projected to start during the duration of this contract), through designated routes. As always, if anything changes on our end with any projects; then we would have to adjust. This could mean that the contractor would have to decontaminate any tools/equipment brought into the space by wiping them down with the approved disinfectant.
