12805B21Q0438 Install Irrigation Lines, Questions and Answers 1

Q1) Please clarify a cut off valve will be required with the backflow prevention to the holding tanks at the cattle barns.

A1) The Government is not sure that backflow prevention is required being that the water from the well is for irrigation and not tied into the potable water system from the base. As for the water cutoff to the water holding tanks at the existing and new barns. I believe we should be able to close off the line to the tanks from the well should we have a problem. We would also like to have shut off valves at the tanks.

The line from the well to the tanks should be a secondary water supply to the tanks kept independent from the potable water line that will feed the tanks as primary.

Q2) Will a line of brush need to be cleared in the areas where the water-reels will be used?

A2) Clearing of brush for irrigation will be done in house as it is going to be a continuous issue once we start irrigating.
