Question 1: Will the magnetic locks be replaced with alternatives?
Answer 1: Yes, wherever possible, the plans call for either crash bars or electric strikes.
Question 2: Is there a control going from the Administration wing to the science section?
Answer 2: Not sure what is meant by “control”. If control means a Card Reader door, then yes.
Question 3: On the crash bar by room 10, do you need contacts with no intrusion detection?
Drawing only says DC.
Answer 3: There are door contacts on ALL perimeter doors, with them being tied into the Lenel System.
Question 4: Greenhouse bay doors. Says door contact on drawing. Greenhouse hallway door has a crash bar. Do we need door contact?
Answer 4: All doors should have a door contact if they are on the perimeter, regardless of the hardware on them.
Question 5: Steve’s door, 116, opens in so crash bar will not work. The same for room 124.
Answer 5: No crash bars on these two doors, just door contacts.
Question 6: Can a copy of the site visit sign in sheets be provided?
Answer 6: Yes. Both have been uploaded to beta.sam.gov.
Question 7: Door entry 23 – does this need a crash bar? Not on drawing. Has handle for exit.
Answer 7: Door 23 is on Sheet 3, between 22 and 24, just not labeled as 23.
Question 8: There are 2 doors, 116c and 124, that are inward swinging but also call for crash bars. Can you please let us know whether or not the doors will be replaced to be outward swing or if these will be removed from the scope of the project?
Answer 8: No crash bars on these two doors, just door contacts.
Question 9: Do the exact mentioned Lenel parts have to be used or is there an option to use a similar but more robust product?
Answer 9: Lenel parts should be used.
