Text1: Replace portions of the BAS (Building Automation System) that runs and coordinates the HVAC for Building 17. This is necessary because repair parts for the current legacy Trane Tracer Summit system are no longer manufactured and have become virtually impossible to find. Also, the new system uses an open protocol language that will allow us to integrate outputs from other buildings into a single web-based display for HVAC status. Additionally, this project will replace static temperature and humidity sensors in the Quarantine glasshouses with dynamic, mobile sensors that will permit more precise control thereby affording better protections for the insects and plants (which are often rare and difficult/costly to re-acquire) contained in this portion of the facility.
Project expected to cost $51,288.85.

Existing portions of the HVAC system that will need to integrate into the new BAS infrastructure still operate using Trane's proprietary language, which makes Trane the company that needs to install the BAS upgrade and integrate the new and existing systems. No other company can integrate into the Trane infrastructure system.
