About this file

This is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document regarding liquid nitrogen procurement requirements.

The government entity requires bulk liquid nitrogen delivery to support operations at two different locations. The requirement specifies two tanks with a capacity of 50-100 liters each, maintained at high pressure (230 psi) to prevent rapid evaporation. The contractor will be responsible for periodic refills of the government's personally owned dewars. The annual consumption is approximately 330 liters per year. The Q&A clarifies that the supplier will bring a liquid dewar to the sites to refill the existing equipment, with no samples stored in the dewars. The pressurization requirement is critical to operational effectiveness, as unpressurized nitrogen would evaporate too quickly for laboratory use.

Q&A

Q: Nitrogen, liquid, Bulk (self-fill). High pressure; 230 psi; 50L - can you confirm what this is? Are you asking the gas supplier to bring a liquid dewar to the site and fill a personally owned 50L dewar? If so, will there be samples in the dewar?

A: We would need a 2 tanks High pressure; 230 psi (because 2 different locations) 50-100L that the company refills every so often. If not pressurized it will evaporate too quickly. Our labs have personally owned dewars. Total usage is roughly 330L per year
