RFI No. 1 Automatic Feeder Steel Beam Remediation 3/29/2021
1. Can trolley systems be disassembled for prep and painting off-site
• Proposals to disassemble the trolley rail system for prep and painting off site are welcome and will be evaluated on the same criteria for refinishing in place.
2. How long can a trolley system be out of service?
• The feeding robot systems in Parr, Ongrow and Broodstock are used on a daily basis;
when the feeding systems are removed from service the fish can be hand fed by employees. The proposed schedules will be evaluated on the least amount of time the systems will be out of service. The system in Smolt is not used, so there is no time limit on how long it could be out of commission.
3. Can a trolley schematic assembly plan be provided?
• The location does not have trolley schematics.
4. Can floor plans for each room, with the layout of the tanks and floor grading be provided?
• The location will try to locate floor plans and will provide them if they are available.
5. When was the last time the system was coated?
• It was coated at the time of construction in 2007.
6. The spec indicates “cleaning”, can you clarify the intent? For instance, is your intent for full removal or just removal of areas of rust and failed coatings? Then is it the intent for a full coating system.
• The intent is to install a complete, new coating system for each trolley system. The amount of cleaning required will be determined by the manufacturer’s requirements for the coating system proposed. Cleaning will be completed as required so that the manufacturer will provide the required warranty.
7. How is each room vented to control humidity?
